Moroccan securities museum wins royal seal of approval


Casablanca, 17/11/06 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chaired the inaugural ceremony of the Moroccan Securities Museum on Friday in Casablanca.

The Museum is the only one in its kind in the Arab world and on the African continent and only sixth in the world. The museum displays 84 old Moroccan shares and obligations selected from the 400 extremely rare items that the museum counts.

The most admired Moroccan Royal delighted onlookers at the Moroccan Securities Museum as he toured the museum’s facilities, added glamour to the day's event.

At the end, His Royal Highness was the first to sign commemorative books of this marvelous museum.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid raises awareness about Alaouite Dynasty


Rissani, Morocco; November 10-11, 2006 -- Under the presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the 14th edition of Moulay Ali Cherif University is was held on November 10-11, 2006.

The theme of this year edition is the social-economic changes under the reign of Sultan Moulay Youssef.

The discussions of this year edition, has engaged in several topics, to highlight some: “Woman and capacity”, “The Algerians Moslem under the reign of Sultan Moulay Youssef”, “Development of the Jewish communities Moroccan women 1912-1926”, “Problems of the circulation of the currency in Morocco” and “Position of the Moroccans vis-à-vis new technologies: the telegraph in example”, The social life under the reign of the Sultan Moulay Youssef, etc.

The meetings took place in the city of Rissani. Rissani is a first Alaouite capital and a place, where many the Alaouites dynasty ancestors are buried.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid applauds Sahara liberation 'Green March' day


Rabat, November 6, 2006 -- His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid marked the 31st anniversary of Sahara liberation Green March Day.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, a dynamic leader, has been associated with national and global affairs since his early age.

This year on March 31th, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid undertook on humanitarian mission to Moroccan Sahara to evaluate the developments in the region. His Royal Highness’ mission was a true testament of Prince Moulay Rachid commitment and hard work to help establish the better future of Moroccan Saharian people.

Green March Day is a day of national pride and remembers, in 1975 when His Majesty the King Hassan II organised the glorious Green March of 350,000 unarmed Moroccan men and women who marched into the Western Sahara area to reclaim the land for Morocco.

Green March Day is an important symbol of Moroccan nationalism and the day is a national holiday throughout Morocco.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid brings glorious spirit to the Throne Cup


Rabat, November 5, 2006 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid presided on Sunday over the soccer Throne Cup final. The second in line to the throne made an unsurprised visit to the Prince Moulay Abdellah sport complex.

His Royal Highness, a long time devotee of the most treasured sport in Morocco, was the picture of pride as he was hosting the exclusive soccer Throne Cup final. Soccer, the national sport generates extraordinary passion among millions of Moroccan people and the games are always incredible events with the Prince’s audience.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid is virtually the only member of the royal family to have evinced deep interest in the national game and is always on hand to support Moroccan soccer. His Royal Highness took his time to meet with the players, the coaches, the referee and other soccer enthusiasts.

All eyes were on the gracious 36-year-old popular royal, as His Royal Highness at the end of the match, handed the trophy to captain Abdessamad Ouarrad of Olympique de Khouribga. Olympique de Khouribga won over Hassania d'Agadir scoring 1-0.

Prince's enthusiasm for soccer is well known and is proven a great asset to Morocco. The soccer gatherings not only showcase itself in a historical and cultural dimension, but also exceed the messages of peace, tolerance and friendship.

SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid préside la finale de la coupe du trône


Rabat, 05/11/06 - SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid a présidé dimanche soir au complexe sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah à Rabat, la finale de la Coupe du Trône (saison 2005-2006) remportée par l'Olympique de Khouribga (OCK) face au Hassania d'Agadir (HUSA) sur le score de un but à zéro.

A son arrivée au complexe sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid a passé en revue un détachement des Forces Armées Royales qui rendait les honneurs, avant d'être salué par le Ministre de l'Intérieur, M.Chakib Benmoussa, le Secrétaire d'Etat chargé de Jeunesse, M. Mohamed El Gahs, et le Président de la Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF), le Général de Corps d'Armée Hosni Benslimane.

SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid a été également salué par le Wali de la région de Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer, M. Hassan Amrani, le Président du Conseil de la région, M. Abdelkbir Berkia, le gouverneur de la préfecture de Skhirat-Temara, Mohamed M'hidia, le Président du Conseil de la ville, M. Omar Bahraoui, le Commandant de la place d'armes de Rabat-Salé, le Colonel Major Mohamed Roudabi et par le Directeur du Complexe sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid s'est rendu, par la suite, à la tribune officielle du complexe, au milieu des ovations d'un grand nombre de supporters des deux équipes venus assister à cette finale.
Après avoir salué les couleurs nationales au son de l'hymne national, SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid s'est dirigé vers l'aire du jeu où Son Altesse Royale a été salué par les membres du bureau de la FRMF, les arbitres de la rencontre et par les dirigeants et les joueurs des deux équipes.

Après avoir pausé pour des photos souvenir avec les dirigeants et les joueurs des deux équipes et les arbitres de la rencontre, SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid a donné le coup d'envoi de cette rencontre avant de regagner la tribune officielle.

Au terme de cette rencontre, SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid a remis la Coupe au capitaine de l'équipe de l'Olympique de Khouribga, Abdessamad Ouarrad.

Prince Moulay Rachid awarded for cross-cultural dialogue


HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been awarded the Roberto Rossellini Award for promoting cross-cultural understanding in Marrakech International Film Festival organized by the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, is spearheading several main projects focusing on cross-cultural dialogue connecting civilizations.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, an advocate of cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, emphasizes that people to people contacts, which cinema provides, to a great extent counter the vague generalizations and confused perceptions that too often convey distorted images of countries, cultures, traditions and religions. The cinema is treated as an effective instrument of cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding in the contemporary world.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid accentuates that the stability of cultural mosaic depends on deep cross-cultural understanding, particularly between young people. Marrakech International Film Festival presents useful models for intercultural interaction where culturally different movies utilize to make festival more vibrant and effective. The Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation stresses important considerations in selecting the movies, to give value to stories from every corner of the world, and to play a vital educational role in promoting tolerance in all areas of human behavior.

In 2004, UNESCO honored to recognize HRH Prince Moulay Rachid for Prince’s sustained advocacy of promoting cross-cultural understanding, tireless leadership and development of programs to benefit the dialogue among civilizations.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University, uses the unlimited resources of cinema to strengthen the cultural cooperation. Prince’s degree of influence not only crosses transcends countless boundaries, what's more, creates a common cultural space that does not admit any political, ideological, religious and racial borders.
