HRH Prince Moulay Rachid applauds Sahara liberation 'Green March' day


Rabat, November 6, 2006 -- His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid marked the 31st anniversary of Sahara liberation Green March Day.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, a dynamic leader, has been associated with national and global affairs since his early age.

This year on March 31th, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid undertook on humanitarian mission to Moroccan Sahara to evaluate the developments in the region. His Royal Highness’ mission was a true testament of Prince Moulay Rachid commitment and hard work to help establish the better future of Moroccan Saharian people.

Green March Day is a day of national pride and remembers, in 1975 when His Majesty the King Hassan II organised the glorious Green March of 350,000 unarmed Moroccan men and women who marched into the Western Sahara area to reclaim the land for Morocco.

Green March Day is an important symbol of Moroccan nationalism and the day is a national holiday throughout Morocco.

In case any of you are wondering, the Green March was the day that Morocco invaded someone else's land. Later on, they started killing innocent refugees by dropping napalm on them. These days, they've strewn landmines all over the territory and occupy it. Viva the Green March, huh?
