HRH Prince Moulay Rachid’s global vision, today and tomorrow’s mission

Morocco-Rabat, August 20, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, heir to the throne of Morocco, on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of Revolution of his grandfather and nation, remembers powerful message of his grandfather that changed peoples’ consciousness and put the nation back on track.

Today, when the Kingdom of Morocco is torn by political corruptions and embarrassing integrity of police forces and judiciary, plagued by hunger, poverty and high unemployment, the prevalence of extremism and fundamentalism alarms over the rising number of crime cases, forbidden freedom of opinion and harshly controlled press, Moroccan people look up to their strategic leader HRH Prince Moulay Rachid for support and guidance.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid has become a symbol of hope to Moroccan people, who has an astonishing academic and intellectual background with degrees with honours in various fields – law, politics, religions, philosophy and languages from Morocco and France. Prince believes in action over talks and when he speaks, his words arrived from the heart.

Growing up the prince took part in the public and official duties with his father and from those times on, he has more than proved to be a guiding light in these increasingly worrying days. Never complaining of difficulty of his tasks, His Royal Highness Prince derives his vision from his faith, knowledge and the heroic efforts of his father and grandfather.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid - a revered leader with a vision - has been a voice of genuine concerns of people, with courage and foresight brokers power sharing matter among population.

His Royal Highness who pays great attention to young generation's welfare is introducing and encouraging young people to take part in political, social, national, religious and cultural reforms and is supporting young to unite for the greater good and critical cause to help create more open-minded and responsible world.

Prince has paid multitude visits to the US, European countries, Arab countries, African countries in addition to his Asian visits. Prince Moulay Rachid rejects concept such as the clash of civilizations, he is making enormous steps in consolidating peace and promoting recovery after 911 and is encouraging nations be not afraid to go see our neighbors. His Royal Highness has become a leading voice for fight against poverty, protection of children’s future to devoid them from extremism and violence.

His Royal Highness’ leadership has goals and visions that aim towards achieving sustainable development, stability and territorial integrity. HRH Prince Moulay Rachid makes great strides

Morocco-Rabat, August 19, 2007 - As the Centenary year is underway, under the strategic leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, Moroccan Scouts are involved in exhilarating local, national, regional and world initiatives, which capture the aspirations and hopes of young people for the future.

His Royal Highness’ presidency of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting is a key in those endeavors, as he shares his plans and motivates Scouts at national and international levels to get them involved in special events and to celebrate what unites them, and to learn what they can do together to help build better world.

His Royal Highness outstanding efforts and supports ensure that Scouting makes the most of Centenary and that Scouting continues to develop and grow in second century.

Since His Royal Highness took the presidency of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, the youth movement has grown together with the growth of population and gained the experience and knowledge that are invaluable. Many separate organizations were born, and became the part of national federation.

His Royal Highness believes in helping scouts members fulfill their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. On this note, His Royal Highness strongly encourages girls to join the scout movement, to get involved in programs that coach physically and mentally, to develop critical life skills, to be able to involve in various positive activities in the community.

His Royal Highness actively seeks to help, inspire, challenge, and empower girls with informal educational program and to give them the opportunity to develop self-esteem. Furthermore, the journey advances diversity and pluralism in the Scout Movement.

His Royal Highness also affirms that the Scout Movement shall ever be open social force that takes action to fight illiteracy and social exclusion trough programs that expose the essential role of literacy and basic education in the larger course of development and progress that guarantee the education for all.

His Royal Highness also insist that the Scout Movement will carry on to promote environmental sustainability and to create greater awareness for the environment, to spread key messages on environmental protection and conservation issues.

In addition, His Royal Highness vows that the Scout Movement will continue to make constructive contribution to society and promotion of the cultural diversity, to accomplish systemic and measurable progress towards sustainable development, and to help children and young people to have the rights given to them.

His Royal Highness, who is in the active process of taking the steps and measures necessary to encompass scouting capacity of social innovation, is demonstrating the energetic commitment to fight the global scourge of terrorism, as well as encouraging greater unity and input advancing peace, enhancing the spirit that seeks for a more peaceful world, hope to gain global spirit in building better world.

The Moroccan National Federation of Scouting is the largest non-government youth movement in Morocco famous nationally and internationally and serving both girls and boys.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presents extraordinary philatelic gift

Morocco-Rabat, August 19, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, welcomed release of special commemorative postage stamp issued as a tribute to 100 years of Scouting by Barid Al-Maghrib (the Moroccan Post).

His Royal Highness stressed efforts to promote knowledge of youths and to reflect on scouting memorable past, present and brilliant future the with this honored stamp.

His Royal Highness also emphasized that the postage stamp is designed to not only commemorate the most momentous group, events and movement in history, but to endorse education about the vital 21st century topics.

In 1963, the Moroccan Post issued stamps on the occasion of the 5th Arab Jamboree and in 1978 on the pan-Arabs Scouting festivities in Morocco. This issue marks national and international event, extremely important for the philatelists of all ages.

Young Moroccans follow in HRH Prince Moulay Rachid footsteps


HRH Prince Moulay Rachid leverages his golf passion to strong and profitable future
Rabat, August 3, 2007 – When His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Founder and President of Hassan II Golf Trophy Association and the President of the most prestige international golf tournament ‘Hassan II Golf Trophy’, unveiled a national plan for junior golf in the kingdom and decided to open up the royal golf courses to all, it has left no doubt that social facade of golf will change forever.

The great achievements of His Royal Highness are incalculable and his unwavering support for national harmony is an epilogue of tale yet to be written.

Four years ago, His Royal Highness opened the first Royal Golf Academy design for children from unprivileged families, to ensure that the opportunity to play the game is more widely available to all young people, and thus encourage more girls and boys to take up a game that they can play for life.

As part of His Royal Highness continuing drive to direct the development of the game for youth, he introduced new focus on drawing the junior golf development and implementation initiatives to provide a blueprint for the future as well as building strategic partnerships with community groups and clubs to implement and take the strategy forward.

His Royal Highness, a keen golfer himself, took on this new and exciting challenge, and turn to a wonderful opportunity to develop one of the oldest games in the world to ensure that it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.

Today, more children are given the opportunity to try golf and more then ever young Moroccan join the ranks of golfers as their role model His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.

His Royal Highness also took personal action to ensure that the current Moroccan golf champion, Abdelhaq Sabi could play on February 1st, 2007 in “Dubai Desert Classic”, golf tournament organized by the PGA as part of its European Tour, only Arab professional player present at this tournament.

A great deal of good work has already been achieved in a short space of time, which demonstrates the strength of His Royal Highness’ commitment to putting a sustainable infrastructure in place for the development of junior golf.

Additionally, Morocco’s reputation as the Country for Golf has been further strengthened.
His Royal Highness spearheads large number of tourism projects showcasing Moroccan golf, and Morocco’s golf destinations.

His Royal Highness led the Kingdom's transformation drive, in which Morocco was transformed from just general golf courses to unique international golf center that boasts all means of comfort, modern royal golf clubs and prestigious golf tournaments.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid sets a course for Marrakech International Film Festival 2007

Morocco-Marrakech July 30, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Founder and President of Foundation for Marrakech International Film Festival (FMIFF) outlines the goals for Marrakech International Film Festival (MIFF) 2007.

His Royal Highness announced his intention to continue to standpoint MIFF to reveal new talents by presenting feature films of quality, which contribute to the evolution of the motion picture arts.

His Royal Highness voiced deep desire to increase the Moroccan audience for international cinema through an extensive presentation of new innovative films.

His Royal Highness adds to bolster celebration of the cinema of the past, present and future through retrospectives, tributes and “carte blanche” to leading figures of cinema.

Furthermore, His Royal Highness pledged to provide a relaxed and comfortable setting for useful contacts between Moroccan and foreign industry people, in the renowned resort of Marrakech.

The 7th Marrakech International Film Festival will take place in Morocco from November 30 to December 8, 2007 organised under the Royal Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid by FMIFF.

With His Royal Highness hands-on-approach, festival will also help increase understanding and spread awareness of the cross-cultural civilization and way of life to a wide audience through the effective intermediate of film.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid urges facilitation of infrastructure development

Morocco-Tangier, July 29, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, today urged to take effective measures for the newly road project in Tangiers’s community as he patronized the signing ceremony for the Road Development Convention.

His Royal Highness, who is dedicated to building life better for Moroccans of today and to make an even better future for young people, drafted the significance of road infrastructure as a key element to the economic prosperity, which is dependent on an effective and efficient transportation system.

His Royal Highness went on to emphasize the importance for increased capacity for roads, timely construction and greater access to ports, which would increase competitiveness in the global market and help the Kingdom’s economy to grow.

His Royal Highness, on his visit to Tangier aimed at spotlighting the issue of development, highlighted the measures to foster capital investment in public infrastructure that must be functional in a consistent and sustainable manner.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid also addresses those disadvantages identified as problem areas, namely necessitates of reduction of bureaucratic regulations and improvement of public procurement and environment protection laws. The number of private initiatives remains limited, mainly because of strict legal rules for involvement of private businesses.

In addition, His Royal Highness reiterates his support to road projects that embrace road safety components, to ensure roads are projected with safety and that useful engineering, enforcement and education measures are combined together to endorse injury prevention.

Road project in Tangier will benefit from 285 million DH investment for infrastructure projects from Morocco’s various government levels funds.
