HRH Prince Moulay Rachid leverages his golf passion to strong and profitable future
Rabat, August 3, 2007 – When His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Founder and President of Hassan II Golf Trophy Association and the President of the most prestige international golf tournament ‘Hassan II Golf Trophy’, unveiled a national plan for junior golf in the kingdom and decided to open up the royal golf courses to all, it has left no doubt that social facade of golf will change forever.
Rabat, August 3, 2007 – When His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Founder and President of Hassan II Golf Trophy Association and the President of the most prestige international golf tournament ‘Hassan II Golf Trophy’, unveiled a national plan for junior golf in the kingdom and decided to open up the royal golf courses to all, it has left no doubt that social facade of golf will change forever.
The great achievements of His Royal Highness are incalculable and his unwavering support for national harmony is an epilogue of tale yet to be written.
Four years ago, His Royal Highness opened the first Royal Golf Academy design for children from unprivileged families, to ensure that the opportunity to play the game is more widely available to all young people, and thus encourage more girls and boys to take up a game that they can play for life.
As part of His Royal Highness continuing drive to direct the development of the game for youth, he introduced new focus on drawing the junior golf development and implementation initiatives to provide a blueprint for the future as well as building strategic partnerships with community groups and clubs to implement and take the strategy forward.
His Royal Highness, a keen golfer himself, took on this new and exciting challenge, and turn to a wonderful opportunity to develop one of the oldest games in the world to ensure that it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
Today, more children are given the opportunity to try golf and more then ever young Moroccan join the ranks of golfers as their role model His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
His Royal Highness also took personal action to ensure that the current Moroccan golf champion, Abdelhaq Sabi could play on February 1st, 2007 in “Dubai Desert Classic”, golf tournament organized by the PGA as part of its European Tour, only Arab professional player present at this tournament.
A great deal of good work has already been achieved in a short space of time, which demonstrates the strength of His Royal Highness’ commitment to putting a sustainable infrastructure in place for the development of junior golf.
Additionally, Morocco’s reputation as the Country for Golf has been further strengthened.
His Royal Highness spearheads large number of tourism projects showcasing Moroccan golf, and Morocco’s golf destinations.
His Royal Highness led the Kingdom's transformation drive, in which Morocco was transformed from just general golf courses to unique international golf center that boasts all means of comfort, modern royal golf clubs and prestigious golf tournaments.
