HRH Prince Moulay Rachid pushes for democratic reforms

Morocco-Ras El-Ma, July 27, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the President of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, gave the start to the Scout Jamboree in Ras El-Ma with the call for the right of every child at every age to grow in the democratic world.

The Jamboree event entitles “One World One Promise” with clear mission to promote peace and understanding among young generation all over the world is above all an educational events.

His Royal Highness continues to move forward with his agenda to establish and strengthen democracy project that supports liberty and democratic rule at home and around the globe.

His Royal Highness laid out a clear agenda for action of cross-partisan democratic initiative whose objective is to act as a catalyst to create a better world through providing challenge and adventure to both young people and adult scouts.

The Scout Jamboree held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid in accordance with the dawning of the World Scout Jamboree takes place from July 27th to August 2nd 2007 in Ras El-Ma, close to the d'Ifrane and is part of the world centenary celebrations of Scouting. 2,400 Scouts from Morocco, Arab and countries around the world are attending the event.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid calls for greater attention of expanding the possibilities for visually impaired people

Morocco-Temara, July 27, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, Morocco’s heir to the throne, stressed importance of awareness in promoting vision health and enhancing independence for people with vision loss as he visited the Education Training Institute for blind in Temara.

His Royal Highness pointed to the urgent need for commitment to research, public education, vision health, and equal capabilities for people who are blind and visually impaired.

On this note, His Royal Highness visited the exposition dedicated to technology, equipment, tools and other products for the blind or visually impaired.

His Royal Highness underlined the significance of providing opportunities, vital programs and services, innovative products, peer support, stressing focus on protection and prevention today, as well as on treatments and cures for tomorrow.

His Royal Highness continued his visit with focus on work that enables visually impaired people to have the same opportunities as sighted people to access to sport and recreational activities.

His Royal Highness called for active encouragement to pursue sport and to participate in sport at all levels, from grassroots to paralympic representation, as sport offers numerous benefits including improving health and mobility, broadening horizons, boosting greater confidence and independence.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, who plays a pivotal role in the development of Morocco’s social service sector, has become the leading voice in improving social conditions and lifestyle of people.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid unveils environmental campaign

Morocco - Ifrane, July 24, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, launched a cleaning campaign to raise awareness about environmental protection and to encourage scouts, young people and large community to "go green".

His Royal Highness who is seeking to spread the spirit of accountability among the Kingdom's youth groups and to get them thinking about their legacy for future generations, carries a profound duty to help young people redefine their relationship with the environment.

His Royal Highness noted that this experience will boost the feeling of responsibility to young people by making them acquainted with the steps they can take to live within our environmental means.

His Royal Highness also underlined the need to increase investment in the youngest citizens, to open their minds and raise their awareness about their obligation because what they will achieve in the future accounts on what we present them today.

The campaign, under the theme “A Campaign for Clean Sources” will reinforce the message that environment needs help from us all to preserve its character and to ensure that it is kept clean, safe and green.

The campaign, within the framework of “Atlas Jamborée 2007” program under His Royal Highness presidency, will also focus on education though its workshops for information and consciousness-raising on the environment, which provide practical guidelines and a range of practical steps that young people can take for a more sustainable countryside, highlights projects that are helping the environment as well as to develop awareness about environmental questions.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid is also Honorary President of Moroccan Association for Environmental Protection.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid heralds new season for the Hassan II Golf Trophy

Rabat, July 22, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Founder and President of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, announced that the Dubai Desert Classic will join the Hassan II Golf Trophy as additional partner in this year event.

According to statement, the parties signed agreement of partnership. The new partnership is designed to assist to build the capacity for growth through the development and promotion of the most important golf tournament in Morocco.

His Royal Highness underlined the importance of cooperation with other golf organizations is necessary to bring the golf business to the higher level and to ensure that it keeps abreast of development.

His Royal Highness has been a relentless advocate for the game of golf for all and is committed to strengthen golf industry’s involvement in golf trade and promotion activities, which has already positioned the Kingdom of Morocco as the regional leader.

From the day one, when His Royal Highness founded Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, the golf in Morocco and region has continued to build momentum and is became a great niche market for the kingdom bringing tourists from around the world.

The Hassan II Golf Trophy, established in 1971, is the oldest sporting event in Morocco managed by the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association under HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presidency. The event, held every year, brings together champions from around the world. This year Hassan II Golf Trophy will take place in the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat from October 24 to 28, 2007.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid brings wisdom and passion to new cultural complex

Nador, July 19, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir to the Moroccan throne, on Thursday continued his tour in Nador region with the mission to enhance quality of life and to address cultural and social needs.

On this note, His Royal Highness commended the establishment of 10-million DH new cultural complex for Nador run by the regional administration. Complex is housing among others a flexible-use rooms, multi-functional lobby, library, drawing and visual art workshops.

While touring the facility, His Royal Highness underlined Kingdom’s commitment to the promotion and encouragement of tradition of cultural pluralism and artistic development that is very much alive in today’s modern society with the agenda to step forward by focusing on cultural diversity, strength, bridge and pledge for the future.

His Royal Highness stressed the importance to contribute to the intellectual and creative development of youth, to encourage them to use creativity and express their artistic vision and to support the valorization of cultural identity.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid inquiries on the rural health infrastructure


El Aroui, July 18, 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, an heir to the Moroccan throne, on Wednesday continued his tour in Nador region with focusing on health facilities and health development in rural and remote areas.

His Royal Highness' commitment and active involvement in health development issues strengthen the Kingdom's overall rural health care system, while raising awareness on various health issues.

For his part, His Royal Highness pointed to citizens living in rural and isolated areas who face special challenges in receiving timely, quality health care, as these areas often suffer from shortages of health care providers and the costs of providing quality health care extends beyond available resources.

Lack of health service and health care professionals in rural and remote areas results in the reality that many rural residents face bigger health problems related with poverty, as well as high numbers of chronic diseases and infant mortality.

His Royal Highness also gives the importance to supports initiatives designed to address the special needs of minorities living in remote areas and function of know-how able of carrying health services to people in isolated areas.

His Royal Highness saw baby steps of this mission in practice as he toured the newly opened hospital of El Aroui, where he was also briefed on the benefits of such project with some of the beneficiaries.

His Royal Highness encourages health providers to serve in rural areas and supports their efforts to sustain and enhance local health care delivery schemes in remote areas, education and placement of health professionals, as well as to research and promote the use of new technologies to improve access to health care services.

In addition, His Royal Highness pushes governments on all levels to foster networking among researchers, professional and non-government organizations, health care providers and public to develop pioneering solutions to rural health problems and to engage rural citizens and communities in defining solutions to meet their needs.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid seeks to intensify efforts in maritime development

Beni Ensar, July 18, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, an heir to the Moroccan throne, is stepping up his efforts to secure a greater development and implementation of a comprehensive long-range maritime development.

In this context, His Royal Highness gave his royal blessing to the project of Center for Maritime Training and Education aimed to enhance regional competence in the fisheries discipline, to contribute in breaking the isolation of fishing communities, to improve employment opportunities and living conditions of fisherpersons, to educate about the integrated strategy as a tool and resource for rural development and in specific instances to make an impact on the national economy.

His Royal Highness went on to emphasize the importance to be placed on the essentials and methods that errand the sustainability of liable fishing, the empowerment development that guarantees the decentralization of main supply management and development influence of local society, the increase of nationwide human and institutional capacity at all ranks for a sustainable and equitable fishery capital management and development, with the summarizing and consolidating past achievements.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid crowns scout camp with the call for promoting International Friendship

Rabat, July 8, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of Moroccan National Federation of Scouting, gave commencement to the 3rd session of the International meeting of Scouts and Solidarity at Scouting Headquarters in Rabat.

To mark one hundred years of scouting, under the directions of His Royal Highness the Moroccan National Federation of Scouting organizes the third edition of International meeting of Scouts and Solidarity under the motto “Friendship Meeting” that aims to promote the values of friendship, solidarity, tolerance and partnership.

His Royal Highness created this program to encourage young scouts from 15 to 18 years and their organizers and to give them unique chance to develop real friendship, sharing in the spirit of laughing and conversing between scouts of many diverse nationalities.

His Royal Highness who takes deep concern in empowerment of youth generations, ensures that at this session of the International meeting, the important questions will be examined, including to carry out the projects that will contribute to the principles of fraternity and solidarity, living together intercultural and humane projects and to discover the beauty of Kingdom of Morocco.

His Royal Highness underlined scouting’s innovative approach to culture and increasing role as a platform for intercultural exchange, highlighting the Kingdom of Morocco as a home to one of the most exciting and culturally diverse centre of today's world.

Ordinary Moroccans recall special moment with HRH Prince Moulay Rachid

Rabat, July 3, 2007 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, on May 22, 2007, led a funeral service for the Moroccan human rights activist Driss Benzekri who died of cancer. The funeral was also attended by the Prime Minister and other officials.

Morocco's Prince Moulay Rachid took place in mosque for the prayers, expressed his condolences, then, His Royal Highness led crowd to the cemetery accompanied by the relatives of deceased Driss Benzekri.

“Look, look, His Royal Highness will go on foot from mosque to the cemetery, like all of us! - whispered villagers amazed at the patience and modesty displayed by the young Prince Moulay Rachid.

Indeed, it was the first time that the Moroccan royal would equally with ordinary people, side by side, come together for one, even though the Alaouite Dynasty is one of the oldest reigning dynasty in the world.

Prince Moulay Rachid, close to the hearts of people, went two kilometers without red carpet, without car, on narrow dusty road, hand-in-hand with huge crowd of ordinary Moroccan people, who got the opportunity to know the true and real Prince, the extremely kind, generous and remarkable smart academic, and the greatest visionary leader.

“We are blessed to have such a humble and caring Prince”, says local onlooker. We never have a royal that touched the hearts of people more than Prince Moualy Rachid does.

His Royal Highness, an amazingly dynamic leader, is always on the very front of wave, who presents us new vision of leadership and who contributes great deal to the nation and has truly astonishing visionary thinking that no others can top.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid encounters for the traditional equestrian arts

Rabat, June 24, 2007 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid graced the 8th session of National Championship of Traditional Equestrian Arts as he presides over the Hassan II “Tbourida” trophy giving ceremony in Rabat, June 24, 2007.

Morocco's enormously popular Prince Moulay Rachid was greeted by large crowd of equestrian fans as he united to promote the traditional equestrian arts. But the youngest were clearly the most delighted as they linger for the chance to meet the Prince.

His Royal Highness, a passionate supporter of sport events, took special care when he with fatherly hand placed the medals on the youngest equestrians who were dressed with shy and yet enthusiasm from the prince’s presence.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid announces the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association-Global Engines partnership
