Rabat August 25, 2006 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid was seen working tirelessly all summer long. Today, His Royal Highness received the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahayan.

During the televised meeting, Prince Moulay Rachid and Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahayan reviewed the Royal Air Forces as a part of official welcome ceremony, before two dignitaries hold official talks.

His Royals Highness, who has a wealth of training, devotion and long years of experience in political role, was the picture of elegance, wearing a dark tailor made suit.

Diplomatic work has became an increasingly important part of the prince's activities, which are founded on impressive academic accomplishments.

Prince Moulay Rachid paves the way for continuity of the institution of monarchy

Morocco, August 20, 2006 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid marked today the fifty-three anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, a landmark in the country's history, which illustrates the heroic struggle of the Alaouite Throne and Moroccan people against French occupation.

On August 20, 1953 the French colonial authorities exiled Alaouite Royal Family, after the Late King Mohammed V - grandfather of Prince Moulay Rachid - refused to sign decrees consecrating French domination over Morocco.

Prince Moulay Rachid has been heavily involved in spearheading many of the nation's initiatives and projects that contribute the great deal to the development and progress of Morocco.

The Prince has become a pioneer in the effort to promote the dialog among civilization, and has liaised with statesmen to ensure the evolution beyond the boundaries.

His Royal Highness efforts are advocating a continuity of Morocco’s history, society, institution and the monarchy, the core stated by his grandfather the Late King Mohammed V.

Golf pour tous à Dar Es-Salam

Créée il y a deux ans suite aux instructions de SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid, la première académie Royal Golf de Dar Es-Salam a déjà formé une cinquantaine d’enfants, tous issus de milieux défavorisés

Il n’y a pas longtemps le golf était généralement perçu comme un sport réservé aux riches. Un signe extérieur de prospérité. Jouer au golf, c'était faire partie d'une élite, avoir un certain rang social car il demande un certain budget financier qui n’est pas à la portée de tout le monde. Ces dernières années, et plus particulièrement en Europe, le golf a commencé à ouvrir ses portes aux classes plus au moins aisées.

Au Maroc, une expérience inédite visant à vulgariser ce sport donne déjà ses fruits. Il s’agit de la première académie du Royal Golf de Dar Es-Salam. Créée il y a deux ans, suite aux instructions de SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid, l’académie de golf compte actuellement cinquante enfants.

L’objectif de l’initiative était de permettre à des jeunes issus de quartiers défavorisés de pouvoir pratiquer ce sport. Au début de l’opération, 200 enfants tous issus des quartiers périphériques de la ville ont été concernés par ce projet.

Aujourd’hui, les cinquante enfants que compte l’académie sont supervisés par le directeur technique national Karim Guessous assisté par les deux entraîneurs Abdelaziz El Atrassi et Mohamed Klaoua. «C’est SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid qui nous a demandé de nous ouvrir aux milieux défavorisés et permettre à ces jeunes de pratiquer le golf afin de déceler de jeunes talents. SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid veille de près sur les jeunes. Souvent, il leur rend visite. Je précise que le comité du club assure aussi le suivi scolaire des jeunes golfeurs et non seulement l’évolution de leur niveau technique de jeu», a déclaré Abderrahmane Bouftas, président du Royal Golf de Dar Es-Salam.

Et d’ajouter que : «La Fédération royale marocaine de golf compte généraliser l’expérience du Royal Golf de Dar Es-Salam et voir les autres clubs du Royaume parrainer de jeunes golfeurs issus de milieux défavorisés». Maniant aisément le club (le bâton du golfeur), les jeunes pratiquent cette discipline en côtoyant les visiteurs du prestigieux club qui sont pour la plupart des étrangers appartenant à la classe aisée. «Nous sommes fiers d’être parrainés par SAR le Prince Moulay Rachid qui nous a comblés de sa générosité, nous espérons que nous serons à la hauteur de sa confiance», déclare Sami Arhzaf, un de ces jeunes golfeurs.

Lors de cette saison sportive les jeunes ont pris part au Junior Challenge Tour Maroc et c’est le jeune Boutaleb Mohammed qui a été premier de l’Ordre du mérite du challenge. Et lors des championnats du Maroc Juniors, organisés au Royal Golf de Dar Es-Salam, ce jeune golfeur s’est classé troisième dans la catégorie des benjamins (12-13 ans) avec 164 points. Au niveau des juniors, le Maroc possède une poignée de jeunes golfeurs capables d’assurer la relève. Durant les championnats arabes de golf, nos jeunes champions ont raflé la mise. Les compétitions ont été marquées par la domination des jeunes golfeurs marocains, toutes catégories confondues. Et là encore le jeune prodige Boutaleb Mohammed a brillé. Il s’est accaparé la deuxième place dans la catégorie des moins de 15 ans.

The King of cross-cultural understanding received the traditional leader of the Asante

Rabat, July 27, 2006 – His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir second in line to the throne, received King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of Kingdom of Asante. Prince Moulay Rachid as a visionary leader spearheads many educational projects that aim to provide deep cross-cultural understanding, despite the challenges.

King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, leader of the Asante (in English: Ashanti), the largest ethnic group in Ghana, wore magnificent traditional robe as he met with His Royal Highness.

The Asante were one of the Akan-speaking people who settled in the forest region of modern Ghana between the 11th and 13th centuries. The separate Asante chiefdoms were united by Osei Tutu in the 1670s and in 1696 he took the title of Asantehene (king) and founded the Asante Empire.

Osei Tutu became king in 1999 after the death of Nana Opoku Ware II. Since his ascension in 1999, the king has attempted to revitalize his nation and to use its resources to promote education, health services, industry, and international partnerships and cooperation.

Prince Moulay Rachid’s dear friend Crown Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange and his wife Crown Princess Máxima paid a state visit to the Kingdom of Asante in 2002 on the occasion of 300-year relations between The Netherlands and Ghana. It was Crown Princess's first foreign state visit.

Prince Moulay Rachid calls for greater economic relations with Bulgaria

Rabat July 10, 2006 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, the heir second in line of succession to the throne, received here on Monday, Bulgarian Interior Minister, Rumen Petkov. On this occasion, His Royal Highness stressed the importance to further promote strategic partnership at all levels in various fields between Morocco and Bulgaria.

Relations between the two countries should see a bigger development, especially in the areas of economy and construction, the Prince said. Prince Moulay Rachid, who last year also hosted then Bulgarian Prime Minister Simeon Sakskoburggotski, explain that partnership between municipalities from both sides should be strengthened.

Morocco imports from Bulgaria natural and chemical fertilizers, wheat, copper and equipment used in food industry, while exports, mainly phosphates and lead. In 1996, Morocco signed a tax agreement with Bulgaria concerning the avoidance of double taxation. Under the agreement, individuals and companies of the two countries will not be liable to double taxes on income and wealth.

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid also expressed support for Bulgaria's effort to attain full EU membership on 1 January 2007.
