HRH Prince Moulay Rachid ensures spotlight of MIFF in Cannes
CANNES, France, May 27 2007 - His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid in his capacity as the President of the Foundation of Marrakech International Film Festival, has once again created the remarkable opportunity for the eight-members group, to get together with the world’s biggest distributors and producers of film at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in the spectacular French Riviera.
His Royal Highness in his effort to increase the awareness of already well-known Marrakech International Film Festival (MIFF), which takes place each end of November/ beginning of December, in the city of Marrakech (Morocco), bestowed to foundation’s representatives ability to attend tremendous international film festival to keep in touch with and abreast of current film productions and to establish and broaden contact with the stars, festival programmers, press or distributors.
One of the main objectives of His Royal Highness is to developed a highly regarded -both culturally and commercially – festival, to generate a series of projects to sustain and promote the local and international film industry and cinematography, to endorse talents outside their respective countries of origin, in addition to present challenging and diverse programs of international films for the public.
The Marrakech International Film Festival presents each year some of today’s most groundbreaking and impressive films that feature both originality and independence of expression, in line with the vision of His Royal Highness’ endeavor to reflect on unusual cinematic language focus of current trends in youth culture.
