HRH Prince Moulay Rachid unleashes the Petanque era in Morocco
Rabat, April 29,2007 - Under the Royal Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, the Stade Marocain (SM) club organized the 1st Petanque World Championship on 28-29 April in Rabat.
His Royal Highness' efforts toward continual evolution of modern society, steering the prince's tremendous enthusiasm for sports into undoubtedly the most important and thrilling event in the Moroccan Petanque life so far.
His Royal Highness, instrumental in creating and supporting several national and international programs, campaigns to push for the versatility, the growing interest and the improvement of individual performances to boost the stature of athletics and sporting events.
His Royal Highness active concern ensures that the Championship has brought the highest prize of the tournament, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Award.
His Royal Highness’ reward by lending his support to the petanque initiative inspires to boost the statute of the 1st Petanque World Championship in Morocco and to reflect proudly on Morocco’s Petanque three world championship titles (1984, 1987, 1990) as its vital part of history.
