HRH Princess Lalla Aicha radiates sophistication in gorgeous setting of the Lalla Meryem Cup
Rabat, Morocco, October 25, 2007 – The only internationally known ladies golf tournament in Arab world, the Lalla Meryem Cup, organized by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid and his Association of Hassan 2 Golf Trophy, began on October 25 2007 with the prominent royal amateur golfer, HRH Princess Lalla Aicha.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Aicha, beloved and loving aunt of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and devoted sister of HM King Hassan 2, radiated the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam as she swung with her firm backing of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid’s vision for better Morocco of tomorrow.
Sticking to her love of golf, Princess Lalla Aicha looked more beautiful than ever as she competed with several international and one Moroccan professional and numerous amateur players.
With forever-lovely Princess Lalla Aicha’s enrolment in the ladies tournament, the Lalla Meryem Cup is the only ladies golf trophy on the universe with royal player.
Prince Moulay Rachid worked over time to guarantee the needs and high demand for sponsorship funds. The Lalla Meryem Cup offers prize money of US$ 120,000, making it the largest female Moroccan award to date. The project moreover provides the great support for the women’s empowerment.
The Prince also seeks to maximize the number of female participants in golf at all levels and in all regions of Morocco, Arabia and Africa.
