Prince Moulay Rachid Embodies the Synthesis of Sport and Traditions

Rabat, June 25, 2006 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presented on Sunday the Hassan II Trophy of the 7th Championship of the Traditional Equestrian Arts - Fantasia. Fantasia is a horse-riding spectacle that includes hundreds of charging horsemen and horsewomen wearing traditional clothing.

The overall awards of the championship stand at about USD 55,000 and the horse riders are rewarded for the beauty of their dress and saddlers, their horizontally-aligned march and their unified shootings.

The prince leapt with enthusiasm to support the championship that enables general audiences to experience traditional Equestrian arts and to demonstrate popular customs of which Morocco is so famous and which motivates tourists to come and to see Morocco for themselves.

Prince Moulay Rachid takes a leading role in promoting Moroccan tourism industry, as he is keen to encourage economic development through tourism.
